Summary Medical Assistant Lead

Leads team members of anassigned area or function by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge ofjob responsibilities.

Job Duties

  • Assists with thedevelopment, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies andprocedures.

  • Provides mentoring,monitoring, coaching, and contributes to evaluation of team members'performance. Serves as a positive role model for team members by working withthem to promote efficiency, quality, teamwork and cooperation.

  • Assists withcoordinating services, prioritizing assignments and workflow, and promotingsituational decision-making/problem solving. Performs all responsibilities of primary role.

  • Takes responsibility foror provides guidance to team members on the handling of simple or complexissues.

Requirements

  • Currently certified or registered as a Medical Assistant prior to or within 60 days of hire.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-year healthcare experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.

  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.

  • All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

Summary Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area oroffice. Job Duties * Under thedirection and supervision of a provider or nurse, assists with performingpatient care. * Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicateschanges in patient condition. Documents patient care given. * Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas. * Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception,scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. Requirements * High school diploma or GED. Preferences Due to the nature of responsibilities for Medical Assistants within the above stated department, the below preferences are requirements for consideration. * Active Medical Assistant registration or certification such as: o Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT), o Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) o Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and proof of current membership from National Health career Association (NHA) o National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT) OR * Completion of a medical assistant program from an accredited institution and ability to obtain registration/certification from one of the above certifying bodies within 60 days of hire.
