Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent care in a hands-on environment with a hard-working team.

  • Greet our patients, obtain medical histories, and verify patient information

  • Provide assistance during examinations and treatment

  • Perform ancillary testing and tasks as directed by the clinician (PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws, etc.) and as certified

  • Dispense medications within the scope of practice as ordered by the treating providers and in accordance with state regulations

  • Assist the front office team as needed

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant training, or military medical specialist with current credentials in the state of employment

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, clinical office environment

  • High school graduate or equivalent

Responsible for patient histories, routine lab procedures and preparation of specimens for transport to the lab. Follows up on test orders and reports results to provider and patient, provides and maintains patient education materials, maintains medical equipment, and orders clinical supplies. Creates and maintains patient electronic medical record (EMR). Complies with all applicable regulatory agency regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 90 days of hire date or proof of active license/certification as EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) or Paramedic or LPN. The clinic hours for this BayCare Urgent Care location are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday and 9:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The Work Schedule for this position is a twelve (12) hour shift 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (or until last patient leaves) Monday through Friday, and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (or until the last patient leaves) on Saturday and Sunday with a Two Days On, then Two Days off Rotation. This will include every other weekend.
