The Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte (REACH) has been a leader in treating fertility patients in Charlotte, North Carolina since 1988. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting our physicians and nurses while providing a high level of patient service. This is a full-time, day shift position and with required participation in weekend rotations.
Checking in patients and completing the appropriate forms as indicated.
Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and nurses.
Record medical histories and prepare patients for exams.
Provide instructions to patients as instructed by physicians and nurses.
Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
Cleaning, preparing and restocking the patient unit after discharges for the following days' procedures.
Prepare charts for patient appointments making sure all necessary information is completed.
Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients' medical records prior to appointment.
Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patients, physicians, and pharmacies.
Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc).
The ideal candidate must have a minimum two years of experience as an Medical Assistant in women's Health and/or OBGYN. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and current BLS certification is required.
Candidates must also possess a strong patient service and team orientation, excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to all stressful situations. Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc) is required.
