We are currently accepting qualified applications for aMEDICAL ASSISTANTto support one of our Government Clients (Correctional Facility) in Tucson, AZ.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Provides nursing care to include, taking and recording patient history, vital signs, making appointments, assisting mid-level providers, nurses and physicians in clinical activities.
  • Draws blood from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.
  • Collects and process urinalysis specimens.
  • Operates EKG machine and other special medical apparatus/equipment within the Health Services Unit.
  • Assists healthcare providers and visiting clinical specialty consultants in the management and coordination of patient flow through the chronic care clinic, optometry and general clinics when scheduled.
  • Assists primary providers when necessary.
  • Performs general nursing duties.
  • Receive inmate passes, pull, file and copy medical records and maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
  • Performs screening vision examinations and assist physicians, nurses and mid-level practitioners with minor surgical cases.
  • Maintain daily sick call list.
  • Performs general office duties, such as stocking/pulling office and medical supplies, making copies, filing, faxing, answering telephones, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At a minimum, candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Office Assistant/Medical Assistant program. Candidate must have 2 years documented experience as a Medical Office Assistant/Medical Assistant. Front and back office skills are required.CITIZENSHIP

We are looking for customer-friendly and passionate employees to be a part of our growing organization where patients and employees are our top priority.</p><p>Location</p><p>Join our team in Tucson, AZ</p><p>Responsibilities</p><p>The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing patient care duties under the Medical Assistant scope of practice in the urgent care setting.</p><p>How you will make an impact</p><p>The Medical Assistant supports the organization with customer service and treating all of our patients with respect and dignity. They provide patient care services in the back office urgent care setting, which will meet the specific needs of the patient.</p><p>Essential Education, Experience and Skills:</p><p>Candidates in Arizona</p><p>Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; and</p><p>1.The medical assistant candidate has completed an APPROVED Medical Assistant Training Program*.</p><ul><li>Certification is not required but is preferred.</li></ul><p>Approved medical assistant training program, means a program accredited by one of the following two-accreditation organizations:</p><ul><li><p>The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health; or</p></li><li><p>The Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES); or</p></li></ul><p>2.The medical assistant candidate has completed an UNAPPROVED medical assistant training program AND</p><ul><li>Certification* is required.</li></ul><p>Successfully passes the medical assistant examination administered by a certifying organization accredited by either the following two agencies:</p><ul><li><p>National Commission for Certifying Agencies; or</p></li><li><p>American National Standards Institute</p></li></ul><p>Certifying organizations accepted in Arizona are:</p><ul><li><p>American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification; or</p></li><li><p>American Medical Technologists (AMT) provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; or</p></li><li><p>National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certification</p></li></ul><p>3.The medical assistant candidate is eligible for hire if they meet one of the following three (3) criteria within A., or B., or C</p><p>A.
