SUMMARY Highly successful and well-established medical clinic is in immediate need of a Medical Assistant (MA). DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant/ARNP Assist physician and physician assistant/ARNP in exam rooms Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, bloodpressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients chart Responsible for appointment scheduling, diagnostic testing and medical record management Responsible for running and managing the specialty clinics Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant/ARNP Ensure all related reports, labs and hospital information is filed and is available in patients medical records prior to their appointment Keep exam rooms stocked with medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants and conduct patient education when appropriate Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e.
refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.) All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator Conveys a positive image of Premier Cardiology & Vascular Associates Expected to cross-cover in the medical office when/where needed KNOWLEDGE Healthcare field and medical specialty Medical terminology Grammar, spelling, and punctuation Knowledge of EHRs and be proficient in computer skills Ability to recognize and report abnormal symptoms of patient conditions SKILLS Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow The ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections Professional and efficient verbal and written communications internally and externally Accomplish tasks through teamwork and initiative EDUCATION High school diploma; some college preferred Medical assistant certification (if applicable) Everest Recruiting provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.

Float Medical Assistant JOB SUMMARY The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patientswithin the scope of the Medical Practice Act. This individualobtains clinical, financial and demographic patient data and assists in patienteducation. Also responsible for assisting providers during the treatmentand examination of patients and administers procedures and treatments asordered by the provider. Performs front office duties as needed andassigned. May travel to different locations, as needed. PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS Able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally run; able to bend,twist, stoop; able to assist patients of all weights into wheelchairs, up tostretcher and transfer patients with assistance, using proper bodymechanics. Requires full range of body motion including handling and liftingpatients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requiresnormal visual acuity and hearing. The use of personal protective equipment andstrict adherence to body substance isolation technique is required. Requiresthe ability to verbally communicate clearly and effectively with patients andco-workers. May be exposed to disease, radiation and toxic chemicals inthe course of performing the work. JOB QUALIFICATIONS * High school graduate or equivalent required. * Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program preferred. * 1 year medical office experience preferred. * Experience with computers and associated clinical software preferred. * Ability to type 40 words per minute accurately. * Must be willing to float to other FHMG practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary. * Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. CERTIFICATE/LICENSE * American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certification, American Medical Technologist (AMT) Certification or current, valid Florida State Board of Nursing, Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse License. American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certification or American Medical Technologist (AMT) Certification is required to be obtained with the first 90 days of employment for those not possessing this minimum certification. (Not required for current LPN or RN license.) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) Certification will be accepted for employees who began employment prior to November 15, 2012, but the certification must not lapse or else is required to then obtain AAMA or AMT Certification or LPN or RN license. * Current, valid CPR certification is required.
