PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION The purpose of your position as a member of the health care team is to perform the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in accordance with established nursing care standards. GENERAL INFORMATION Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies, learns quickly from oral and written instructions, knowledge of medical terminology, understands the ethics of confidentiality. Can effectively act as a liaison between patients and physicians. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work requires very frequent walking to various areas of the department. Must be able to stand, bend, lift and grab necessary items to assist with procedures (51-80% of work time). Work requires frequently lifting of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs and frequent maneuvering and positioning patients up to 200 lbs. May be required to work with heavier capacities with mechanical lifts, walkers, additional staff, etc (21-50% of work time). Work requires other activities including; pushing/pulling wheelchairs, climbing stairs and ladders to access files, and stooping and kneeling to reach files (21-50% of work time) Work requires manual dexterity for purposes of utilizing necessary equipment and evaluating patients. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Work requires monthly travel offsite to perform Medical Assistant job duties at affiliated clinics. ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS Generally good working conditions. Work may frequently involve unpleasant patient related activities (21-50% of work time). Minimal exposure to chemicals, solvents and radiation. Frequent potential exposure to infectious diseases (21-50% of work time). Subject to injury from confused, combative patients, families and visitors. Universal Precautions apply. QUALIFICATIONS Certificate or Associates Degree in Medical Assistant Program or equivalent experience. Previous physician office or hospital experience preferred. BLS certification. Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required. Work requires basic computer literacy skills and keyboard proficiency. Experience working with clinical documentation systems, hospital information systems, electronic health records, and scheduling systems preferred. Work requires basic skills in Microsoft Word. Work requires interpersonal skills to communicate with team members. Team collaboration is frequently required to provide the highest quality of care. A high level of social sensitivity when communicating with patients to gather patient histories, explain procedures and/or tests, and give instructions. Must be compassionate, professional, and empathetic when handling patient complaints and concerns while remaining focused on providing a positive patient experience (more than 80% of work time). Work requires analytical ability to assess patients and provide appropriate care. Must be able to integrate and interpret data from diverse sources to identify solutions. Must be able to accept and complete responsibilities without direct supervision (51-80% of work time). Work requires a high level of mental and visual focus requiring mental application and attention to detail. Work is performed under tight deadlines, must possess excellent time management and functional organizational skills to manage a variety of tasks in a short period of time (more than 80% of work time). Driving a company vehicle (or personal vehicle, as required) is a requirement of the position, and as a condition of employment this position requires the job holder to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Valid PA driver#s license and proof of current automobile insurance coverage required. Driving records are obtained prior to new hire starting and are checked intermittently as needed but not less than every three years.

Make adjustments to equipment such as feeder mechanism based on the size of the paper. Deliver equipment components such as plates or spray heads to the equipment for installation. Recycle old/discarded plates. Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation. Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and recylcling/storing plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the plates. Requires basic knowledge of presswork procedures and materials learned through on the job training. Ability to follow instructions to assist in press set up, operation and maintenance.
