Job Description Job Description We are looking for a qualified medical assistant to join our psychiatric clinic. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the clinic. This position requires knowledge of healthcare services. The MA should be able to ensure steady workflows and uninterrupted service in our clinic. Duties and Responsibilities includes:

  • Responsible for assisting the Nurse Practitioner in providing care to our patients.

  • Scheduling patient appointments

  • Record medical histories and contact information in patient files

  • Update medical histories and contact information in patient files

  • Performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, checking vitals or collecting lab samples

  • Clean consult rooms

  • Answer phone calls

  • Regular communication with providers regarding patient care both verbally and through the EMR

  • Knowledge of and adherence to OSHA safety standards

  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information per HIPAA.

  • EMR experience (preferred)/Train on job

  • Strong writing and verbal skills

  • Ability to work through interruptions, manage multiple priorities and handle stressful situations. Skills:

  • Proven work experience as a medical Assistant

  • Ability to handle medical records discreetly

  • Knowledge of medical issues and terminology

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations

  • Communication skills and a customer service orientation

  • Know skills of medical assistant and phlebotomy'

  • Understand how to use equipment to take patient vital signs.

  • MA should be detail-oriented, as you must enter all patient data accurately in their records so the NP and insurance companies can refer to them.

  • Possess interpersonal skills so you can work with patients who may be in distress Job Type: -Full-time position Schedule: -Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

  • Scheduled 40 hours per week

  • No Weekends/No calls Work Remotely:

  • Outpatient Qualification/Education/Requirements: -Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (Required) -1 years' experience (Preferred) New Graduates are welcome to apply

  • Current CPR Certification

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred) Compensation: starting between $13-15.00 per hour Benefits at a Glance:
