Blue Springs Internal Medicine (BSIM) is a comprehensive care clinic with three primary care physicians and one nurse practitioner. BSIM is part of the St.
Mary's Medical Group network, and its clinic in the Professional Building on St.
Mary's Medical Center campus.
This full-time (40 hr/wk) Certified Medical Assistant position will be a member of a clinical team of other CMAs and nurses, supporting one of our PCPs. The ideal candidate will fit the qualifications and value the responsibilities of the job, as well as possess a cooperative, positive attitude with an eagerness to take excellent care of all BSIM patients by consistently working with compassion and focus at a fast pace.
The candidate must have a medical background, know medical terminology, know how to type with basic computer skills as well as basic language skills such as spelling and grammar, be able to listen well and translate that into professional script. The candidate must also have experience as a certified medical assistant/patient care technician with hands on patient care, including taking vitals and accurate histories.
This position would support the physician and patients with rooming, taking vital signs, phone calls, medication refills/renewals, referrals, and overall by taking excellent care of the patients. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, has a CMA, and can multitask with a positive attitude and flexibility. This position requires teamwork within the MD's team (two LPNs) as well as the entire clinic.
Responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental and organization tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.
Provides Information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of organization.
Education and Work Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014. Medical Assistant Certification.
Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. Minimum one year work experience in public contact job. Work experience in health care preferred.
