Description: Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining treatment rooms, draping and positioning patients, handing equipment, supplies, and instruments to the physician, taking vital signs, performing vision tests, assisting with treatments, maintaining equipment, conducting visual field tests, and managing inventory supplies. Duties also involve handling electronic medical records (EMR) and patient scheduling.

Supervision: Reports directly to the Back Office Manager.

Responsibilities:The following duties reflect the principal functions of the job and are not an exhaustive list of all duties required:

  • Schedule appointments.
  • Send appropriate information to various departments and medical offices.
  • Ensure timely services rendered to patients.
  • Arrange and assist patients in understanding instructions for ancillary services.
  • Document patient chief complaints.
  • Check floor stock and sample medications, discard expired medications, and re-order as needed.
  • Assist patients to examination rooms and maintain availability to the physician as needed.
  • Perform visual testing and on-site testing accurately.
  • File patient lab results, x-rays, EKGs, scans, and other documents after doctor signs off.
  • Assist physicians in medical examinations and minor surgeries.
  • Maintain inventory, ordering, and facility maintenance.
  • Administer injections under physician direction.
  • Update and maintain required logs.
  • Translate for providers and office staff as requested.
  • Prepare office for site reviews and audits.
  • Perform tasks under the direction of the provider and management.
  • Maintain patient care areas by daily cleaning, immediate cleaning following infectious exposure, and inventorying supplies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Follow rules and procedures for information requests and releases.
  • Report equipment or supply needs and malfunctions.
  • Maintain general office equipment, including CPR carts and emergency supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate (preferred)
  • BLS Certified (required)
  • Fluency in Spanish, Farsi, or Russian (Preferred)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

  • Medical Assistant: 2 years (Preferred)
  • EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday
  • Some Saturdays
  • 12pm- 9pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
