Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge is seeking to hire:

Certified Medical Assistant (for Sentara's Mobile Van)

Full Time ~ 40 hours per week ~ Day Shift

Required: High School Graduate or equivalent + completion of Med Ass't training

Must be registered or certified as a Medical Assistant

Must have valid Driver's License in good standing.

Candidates considered must be bi-lingual (Spanish/English)

As a Certified Medical Assistant with the Sentara's Mobile Health Clinic, you will work with a Certified Nurse Practitioner in providing primary care services to uninsured and underinsured patients in our community. This position's primary responsibilities include clinical, clerical and driving duties. Clinical duties include rooming patients, giving injections, collecting specimens, and assisting the Nurse Practitioner with procedures. Clerical duties include registering, scheduling, collecting, and depositing contributions, answering the phone, stocking the clinic, and assisting patients in applying for additional medical and community services. This position requires a clean driving record, as you will be trained to drive the mobile clinic to site locations and maintain the vehicle. Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.

Job Summary

Perform patient care related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluation, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Perform administrative duties, as appropriate.
