What You Will Do

As an Associate with Providence Hospital-DC, you will have the opportunity to

Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.

  • Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

  • Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.

  • Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • BLS Provider .

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • Medical Assistant specializing in Registered.

  • Medical Assistant.

Education:

  • Diploma

  • High school diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

  • None required.

Performs phlebotomy and electrocardiography functions as needed. Education: * High school degree or GED diploma is required, plus completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. Some advanced training in typing and office procedures and knowledge of medical terminology are also required. Requires the ability to read and write; and knowledge of grammar, and arithmetic including fractions and decimals. May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier, sterilizing equipment, blood pressure cuff, or tables); the preparation, comparison or checking of reports, records and related data; and basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application. Experience: * From 0 to 2 years experience required, such as secretarial or office experience demonstrating organizational skills and a working familiarity of office computers (typing and spreadsheets) and clinical procedures in a hospital or medical setting. Certification/Registration/Licensure: * Current CPR certification and diploma as Medical Assistant are required. Certification or registration as Medical Assistant is preferred .
