Responsibilities

CenterWell is seeking a Medical Assistant 2, in this role you will be the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative duties in addition to patient care. As a part of the Clinical Care Team you will engage with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant 2 makes a difference in people's lives, administers prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a Physician.

Job Functions:

  • Performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system

  • Taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site

  • Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses

  • Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows

  • Schedule appointments for patients

  • Proficient in EMR process

Required Qualifications

  • 1 - 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care

  • An active RMA or CMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, NHA, ARMA, NAHP, AMT, NAHT, NCCT, or AAH (Please note if you are currently certified, some CMA and RMA programs may still require completion of Humana approved certification program within one year from hire date)

  • Bilingual English/Spanish- Must be able to speak, read, and write in both languages without limitations or assistance

  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience

  • Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment

  • Experience with MS Outlook

  • CPR certification

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HEDIS

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records

  • Previous experience in a geriatric setting

  • 1-2 years' experience with EMR and ECW

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM

Additional Information

  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana/Senior Bridge's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

  • We will requirefull COVID vaccination for this job as we are ahealthcarecompany committed to putting health and safety first for our members, patients, associates and the communities we serve. This job must be in the office and requires close personal interaction with patients. You will not be able to social distance.
