We are currently accepting qualified applications for a Medical Appointment Clerk to support one of our Government clients at Hill AFB, UT.
  • Schedules appointments in a government computer system for primary care, specialty and subspecialty medical care.
  • In addition to scheduling requested appointments, this position will call patients or respond to secure messaging submissions to schedule, reschedule, and/or cancel appointments as needed, to include appointments for consult/referral specialty care within the MTF or at civilian facilities.

  • A fully qualified typist (computer keyboard) with a minimum of 50 WPM is required.
  • Clearly speak and understand the English language.
  • Use of standard office equipment, such as personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and telephone systems.
  • Possess general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, and excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
  • At least 6 months of experience in medical office scheduling.

VIEW JOBS 12/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-12T00:00 <span style="display: none;"> </span><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;"><strong>Global Empire, LLC (GHG) is a Healthcare Staffing Company specialized in providing reliable and qualified healthcare professionals for Government contracts nationwide. <br />  </strong><br /> <strong>Available Position: </strong>Outpatient Medical Coder - Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) CCS-P (Certified Coder Specialist – Physician (CCS-P).<br /> <strong> <br /> Place of Performance: </strong>is 75<sup>TH</sup> Medical Group, 7321 Balmer St, Bldg 570, Hill AFB, UT 84056.<br /> <br /> <strong>Work Schedule: </strong>full-time, Monday – Friday; 0730-1630, Weekly hours shall not exceed a forty (40) hour work week except when the performance location is shut down for planned or unplanned closures as applicable.<br /> <br /> <strong>Period of Performance: </strong>July 23, 2018 18 to January 22, 2021<br /> <br /> <strong>Scope of Work: </strong>The personnel under this task order will perform coding services for all medical, surgical and ancillary services s in accordance with AFMS policy and procedures.These individuals will be assigned to the TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration Flight. Coding professionals performing in an Air Force facility shall complete requirements for ICD-10-CM as required by national certification agencies before employment start date.  The Government requires certificates or other documentation proving completion.<br /> <br /> <strong>Work Duties: </strong><br /> Responsible for assignment of accurate E&M, ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS codes and modifiers from medical record documentation. <br /> Identifies and abstracts information from medical records (paper or electronic) for special studies and audits, internal and external. <br /> Interacts with MTF staff to ensure documentation is clear and supports coding assignments.  Educates MTF staff through individual or group in-services and training sessions.  <br /> Maintains a delinquency report of missing records in order to facilitate completion of work within the required Air Force thresholds.<br />  <br /> <strong>Position Requirements/Qualifications:</strong><br /> <strong><u>Mandatory knowledge and skills.</u> </strong><br /> Position requires excellent computer/communication skills for provider and staff interactions. <br /> Knowledge of anatomy/physiology and disease process, medical terminology, coding guidelines (outpatient), documentation requirements, familiarity with medications and reimbursement guidelines; and encoder experience. <br /> Candidate must have ability to handle multiple projects and appropriately prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. <br /> <br /> <u><strong>Education/Certification:</strong></u><strong>  </strong><br /> Registered Health Information Technologist (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC) CCS-P (Certified Coder Specialist – Physician (CCS-P) with the appropriate level of experience.  An accrediting institution recognized by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and/or American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) must accredit education.  <br /> <br /> <strong><u>Continued Education Requirements:</u></strong><u>   </u><br /> Contract medical coders will obtain the required continued education hours at no expense to the government in order to maintain current and proper national certification(s) required for the position. <br /> Must have successfully completed requirements for International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision ICD-10-CM/PCS proficiency certification by AHIMA standards or the AAPC ICD-10-CM proficiency test prior to their start date. <br /> <br /> <u><strong>Experience:</strong></u><br /> A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a production coding environment in multiple specialties in the outpatient setting (physician’s office or ambulatory surgery centers) within the last five (5) years, including assignment of E&M, CPT, and HCPCS codes.  Multiple specialties encompass different medical specialties (i.e. Family Practice, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, OB/GYN, etc.) that utilize ICD, E&M, CPT, and HCPCS codes.<br /> <br /> <strong>PLEASE NOTE:</strong>  Ancillary specialties (PT/OT, Radiology, Lab, Nutrition, etc.) that usually do NOT use E&M codes do <strong>not</strong> count as qualifying experience. Additionally, coding, auditing and training exclusively for specialties such as home health, skilled nursing facilities, and rehabilitation care will <strong>not</strong> be considered as qualifying experience.
