Decypher is seeking Medical Appointment Clerk candidates to provide support for the Internal Medicine Clinic at the Naval Hospital Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida.


  • Receive, greet, and direct patients, visitors, and hospital personnel and provide accurate responses in a friendly, courteous, and concerned manner.

  • Fax, copy, scan, print, and type documents to complete daily tasks.

  • Use the Composite Healthcare System (CHCS), the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Applications (AHLTA), and various other databases in support of patient care and to satisfy administrative requirements.

  • Verify patient eligibility and enrollment status.

  • Schedule, reschedule and/or cancel appointments.


  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • At least, one (1) year related experience.
  • US Citizen
  • NACI clearance

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for projecting and integrating the Mission and Core Values of the organization within and outside of the healthcare center. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT DUTIES: * Answers phones, takes messages, and facilitates communication. * Provides clerical support for the completion of information pertaining to proposals, contracts, and required reporting. * Assists in tracking, trending, and reporting activities and statistics. * Enters data into and print reports as needed. * Schedules and arranges appointments for case managers * Updates policies and procedures as necessary. * Prepares and coordinates meetings (IE, binders, correspondence, dinner arrangements, minutes) * Copies, files, faxes, and sends/receives relevant correspondence to meet the needs of managers. * Maintains information in a confidential manner. * Files program data, reports, records and correspondence in an organized manner. * Collects, records and distributes rent and utility checks to appropriate agencies * Provides HIV testing as needed * Develops and maintains spreadsheet and other program monitoring programs * Assists Finance and Contracts Department in compiling monthly HOPWA invoice including monitoring and collection of supporting documentation * Processes mailings on a routine basis. * Compiles, checks for completeness and documents content of mailings to corporate offices as needed. Participation in AHF Meetings/Committees Attends AHF staff meetings. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer/Software Skills & Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate proficiency in Database software; Spreadsheet software; Date Entry Skills and Word Processing software. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
