Vibra Healthcare's Western Billing Office in Fresno, CA is seeking a Full Time Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist (Patient Account Rep) to join our team!

The Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing bills to contracted payors, and follow-up with insurance companies and patients for payments.


  • Follows up on aged receivables as needed.

  • Performs and maintains a daily average of 60 accounts per day.

  • Bill secondary and third insurance billings as required.

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare claims processing

  • Identifies and communicates payor trends and issues to management on a timely basis.

  • Perform follow-up calls to carriers.


  • AA Degree or relevant experience required.

  • Minimum two (2) years hospital billing experience required.

  • Hands on experience reading and interpreting Commercial EOB's required.

  • Able to escalate problem claims with payors required.

  • Ability to work 50+ accounts per day via phone and web required.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, MS Office required.

This position is responsible for handling all correspondence related to an insurance or patient account, contacting insurance carriers, patients and other facilities as needed to get maximum payment on accounts and identify issues or changes to achieve client profitability. Responsible for working EDI transactions and ERA files, including reconciling carrier submissions, edits and rejection reports. Ability to research and resolve accounts appearing on Delinquent Insurance Report, Collection Ledger and Government Payor report as directed by management making appropriate decisions on accounts to be worked to maximize reimbursement. What are the requirements? 1 - 3 years of work experience Good understanding of the A/R process a plus What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
