The Medic CC- Level I will be responsible for rendering professional advanced emergency care to ill and injured persons in accordance with N.Y.S. W.R.E.MA.C. and WCA Services Medical Directors. Will be able to function as the in-charge medic on an ALS vehicle. Is responsible for the safe operation of corporate vehicles.
Assures restocking of supplies and equipment.
Check vehicle per part 800 standards beginning each shift.
Complete billing forms and PCRs in a timely fashion.
Ensure cleanliness of quarters, vehicle and patient equipment.
Ensure safety of vehicle occupants with proper restraints.
Functions appropriately in charge of patient care for those requiring ALS.
Functions as a patient advocate to other responders or providers
Is able to function at scenes appropriately as a member of a team
Maintains accountability of medications and other equipment assigned to them.
Operate assigned vehicle safely driving, parking, emergency mode.
Provide treatment at BLS level according to state protocol.
Provides ALS care according to WREMAC Protocols
Responds to assigned calls in a timely fashion.
Safely wheel stretcher bound patients as necessary.
Uses proper radio etiquette and procedures.
Ability to render professional basic emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S. basic protocol standards, and advanced emergency care in accordance with N.Y.S.W.R.E.M.A.C. protocol standards.
Must attend 25 hours of EMS related continuing education per year.
Must obtain PIT Credentialization during orientation.
Must maintain credentialing skills at outlined in the Standard Operating Guidelines.
Frequent contact with physicians, EMS/Fire Personnel (paid or volunteer), police agencies, aeromedical personnel. MTS Division staff, management staff patients and families.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Must have and maintain current certifications in: New York State Department of Health AEMT-CC or EMT-P, CPR for the professional Rescuer (AHA or equivalent), ACLS, BTLS or PHTLS, and PALS. Credentials must be updated biannually. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license, which is acceptable to the companys insurance carrier. All new hire AEMT-CC and EMT-P are required to show proof of completion within 6 months of the following: ICS-100, ICS-200.b, NIMS-700, Hazmat Awareness (post 9/11/2001), NYS Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training. New hires within their first month of employment will be required to initiate Pennsylvania EMS certification within the first 30 days of hire. Employees will be required to acquire and maintain Pennsylvania EMS certification within six months of date of hire at the highest possible level of qualification available during the term of this contract.
