Position: Media Specialist I - Content Operations

Our Client is seeking a Media Specialist to join the Clients Global Content Operations team in Culver City, CA. The Media Specialist I will be responsible for the review, advisement, QC and processing of digital video assets, as well as, overseeing the upload and transcode operations of such assets into our CMS.
The appropriate candidate must effectively demonstrate technical proficiency in working with various video, audio and captioning formats which support online media distribution, and the ability to manage tools and resources in order to process, troubleshoot issues and deliver media in alignment with programming and distribution objectives.
This position is part of a small, integral group and is able to work both independently and within an interdisciplinary team. The candidate accepts that priorities can change rapidly, and is able to shift operations without stress or resistance.
Expertise in file based encoding
Extensive experience with file transcoding engines such as AWS Elemental, Telestream Vantage and FFMPEG.
Knowledge of digital media standard media formats and streaming protocols
Proficiency in non-linear editing systems (FCP, Avid, Premiere)
Knowledge of web-based file transfer tools and delivery systems: Aspera, SFTP and FTP
Knowledge of standard metadata and XML formats such as xls, xml, rss, and mrss
Experience with packaging digital assets for distribution
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical and operational problems and challenges.
Encoding & transcoding of digital video files
Working with ProRes, H.264 and MPEG media codecs
HD & SD video QC
Manage technical rejections with suppliers
Analyze, interpret and apply technical delivery specifications to broadband and online video initiatives with the ability to troubleshoot and communicate any potential issues.
Accurately Upload, ingest and QC content and metadata
Generate and update XMLs.
Evaluate, repair, upload and ingest closed captioning and/or subtitle files
Provide regular status reports on technical challenges, work progress and business requirements to key stakeholders.
Package and coordinate delivery of video assets packages to direct distribution partners.
Track progress of work within shared departmental systems
Work with partner accounts manager(s) to roadmap and deliver ads, trailers, features, specials and promotions for all broadband and online video initiatives
Proactively monitor the status of live campaigns to ensure a high-quality end-user experience
4+ years experience in new media, audio, video and/or interactive consumer entertainment products, preferably in a video delivery environment.
BA degree in TV/Film production or related discipline preferred.
Exceptional organizational, media management and media cataloguing skills
Professional experience in project management
Proficient working on both Mac and PC platforms
Strong knowledge of administrative software applications: MS Office Applications, (i.e., MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
Must be a creative thinker with a passion for all things related to digital entertainment while also demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Ability to effectively collaborate in a team setting
Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
Self-organized and self-motivated requiring little supervision
