Job Summary/Description:

WALB is looking for a Media Sales Strategist, a vital resource for our Sales Team. This candidate is forward-thinking and possesses great communication skills, customer service, and can work under deadlines. This position will support the sales team and management by ensuring that sales commitments, events, projects, and research are executed in a timely and effective manner.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Candidates should have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple challenges simultaneously

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with station management by identifying potential issues and help develop customized solutions to assist the station to exceed sales and performance goals

  • Be a hands-on leader, self-starter, resourceful, and able to identify and articulate opportunities for product and process improvement with significant revenue potential

  • Extensive use of Wide Orbit Media Sales & Traffic, Matrix, Nielsen, and ComScore ratings software to create informational and research pieces using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Verify accuracy of times, date(s), and overall compliance to ensure contracts, programming, and research are error-free

  • Create sales and marketing sponsorships, promotional plans, literature, and advertising proposals for station and sales team

  • Optimize the efficiency of sales process by providing support where and when needed

  • Ability to dive into campaign details, identify and recognize issues, and offer multiple solution paths

  • Work closely with the digital team to coordinate the execution and reporting of digital campaigns

  • Client communications - perform as a liaison between clients and sales team, addressing inquiries, providing information, and ensuring client satisfaction

  • Input broadcast and digital orders for account executives and sales managers

  • Act as liaison between WALB Sales, Traffic, Marketing, and Advertisers

  • Oversee, create, and maintain sales cycle efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications/Requirements:

Candidate must be positive, outgoing, detail-oriented, hard-working, and above all a team player

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and basic knowledge of organizing software apps

  • Awareness of broadcast & digital marketing. Social media marketing experience and knowledge is a plus

  • Strong organization and time management, with the ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines

  • Must be dependable and punctual

  • Must represent company with professionalism and integrity

  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision, yet committed to team environment

  • Graphic design experience (Adobe Premier Photoshop, Canva, etc.) is an additional benefit

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment

  • Previous advertising/marketing experience is preferred, but not required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Clean Driving Record & dependable transportation

  • Office hours are M-F 8:30a to 5:30pm
