Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Position is in Tubes Dispensing, hours are Mon-Th 6am-430pm*

Arrive to work on time and work during scheduled hours, working additional overtime as needed.

  • Follow all written procedures. Report discrepancies in procedures (SOP's, DHR's, etc.) to the Area Supervisor.

  • Maintain good personal hygiene. Wear designated uniform maintained in good condition.

  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Refer to job specific job Safety Analysis.

  • Perform all work activities in a safe manner. Maintain a safe and clutter free work area. Clean up all spills immediately.

  • Listen to, follow and relay written and verbal instructions in English.

  • Report property damage and /or safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist or Senior Management immediately.

  • Document accurately and check personal work for quality and compliance.

  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery. Perform simple maintenance and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to Supervisor or Lead.

  • Demonstrate job functions to coworkers as needed.

  • Continuously monitor product for defects.

  • Assist with inventory process as requested.

  • Work cooperatively and efficiently with coworkers in all departments with little supervision to achieve team, department and company goals.

  • Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery. Perform simple maintenance and make necessary adjustments.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. This includes all assigned equipment.

  • Accurately dispense required additives to media and properly perform technique of getting pH balance as needed.

  • Package products as required.

  • Complete production assignments in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental schedules.

  • Obtain correct materials for operation needs from warehouse or staging area.

  • Read, understand and complete required documentation. All paperwork shall be accurately and neatly completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for insuring the safe and proper performance of procedures associated with the production line you are working on.

  • Organize production flow, making sure that materials are available, estimating progress of line, and scheduling breaks while corresponding to production time schedule.

  • Do document review and production checks on your work.

  • Maintain a disciplined environment and enforce departmental and company policies.

  • Investigate and remedy, when possible, production failures.

  • Set up and adjust machine to run a variety of sizes and types using tools to adjust machine.

  • Help to maintain quality assurance on your position at all times.

  • Sign off on DHR's in proper places and fill in pertinent information in accordance to SOP's.

  • Comply with all company personnel policies.

In addition, other duties may be assigned as the need arises.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate, both written and verbally, using the English language.

  • Must be able to comprehend and follow both written and/or verbal English communications.

  • Must be able to perform basic math.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 600 lbs wheeled kettles.

  • Stand for sustained periods of time, approximately 10 hours a day.

  • Ability to see and distinguish colors.

The Team Leader must monitor all processes and personnel and ensure that they have the training and equipment to safely and efficiently meet customer needs. Assists production management in the development and implementation of new operations practices, processes and technologies to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost. Manage conflict effectively to resolve issues effectively. Use Lean tools to reduce scrap and improve operational efficiencies, product quality and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: * Staff Hiring – Maintain appropriate staffing, interview applicants, and make recommendations for qualified candidates. Staff Training – Ensure proper training in safety, core competencies, and continuous improvement for new and existing employees. * Staff Motivation – Create a team environment through motivation and positive feedback, counseling and corrective action as necessary up to and including dismissal for nonqualified or nonproductive employees (with HR assistance). * Create and maintain a safe work environment by engaging the associates in reporting potential safety hazards, support of the EH&S guidelines and continual emphasis on safe work habits and working conditions. Investigate safety problems, develop corrective actions with EH&S and implement and communicate changes. * Continuously assess the physical condition of the workplace regarding safety and ergonomic correctness. Implement 5S and maintain through audit process. * Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Standard Work, and Device History Records (DHRs) to ensure consistent and reliable processes and procedures that comply with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations/ Quality System Regulation (QSR) guidelines, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) requirements and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). * Process employee time records, absences, overtime, paid time off, etc while maintaining proper staffing. * Manage daily operations to include being responsible for all incident reporting and immediate action steps. * Communicate effectively with other company departments to achieve operational goals. * Maintain a professional demeanor during stressful situations, make informed decisions and communicate these decisions up and down the chain. * Ensure production schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met for the functions. * Implement and maintain work areas within the spirit and guidelines of 5S in accordance with Lean manufacturing and company guidelines. * Comply with all Local, State and Federal regulations regarding employees. * Comply with and ensure associate compliance with all applicable SOPs. * Evaluate job performance of employees through performance reviews making appropriate recommendations for improvement in productivity and efficiency and administering a developmental plan for all associates. * Emergency contact for after hour's incidents.
