At Ogilvy we make brands matter in the modern age by combining brilliant creative content ideas with smart paid media execution.As we are helping our clients transform and embrace modern marketing, we are looking for an ambitious talent with 0-2 years of agency experience with appetite to excel in paid social buying and planning, with a focus on full-funnel performance.The Media Planner is active across digital and has an entrepreneurial spirit and is passionate about all things related to performance media (such as methods, tools, strategies and measurement).
The Media Planner will be supervised by a Media Supervisor/Associate Director and will be required to assist in planning, implementation and maintenance of media campaigns. This position will be responsible for performance of media campaigns primarily across Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Reddit, TikTok and LinkedIn, however there are additional opportunities where a skillset in other media channel buying will be beneficial. You will be working closely with other media planners, strategists, creatives and analysts on a large integrated team to deliver optimal performance for a consumer electronics client.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Manage multiple in-market paid social campaigns based on set plans with a focus on pacing and optimizing towards budget and best performance combinations of tactic, audience and format
Translate business objectives into social media objectives, enriched by proprietary benchmarks (best content/format, CPM/CTR/CPA in category, etc).
Map all distribution segments per platform and associate budget needed based on KPI/objectives.
Recommend the format and placement to be leveraged based on the objectives of the campaign taking into consideration the budget limitation.
Allocate resources for the right advertising pressure to achieve business goals while taking into consideration budget limitation.
Assist with the general measurement strategy, based on client requirements, including conversion tracking, page level conversion rate (funnel conversion), and reengagement of people that did not convert with specific messages based on their last stage in the conversion funnel.
Define the general approach to custom targeting by identifying the data available that can be leveraged to develop unique targeting based on client knowledge/databases.
Use and manage digital third-party serviced tools within the media team's performance framework
Work with analytics teams to develop performance reports on a regular cadence, and generate insights and recommendations for improvement based on data-driven results
Assist with developing cross-platform media plans that clearly communicate recommendations with forecasted KPIs, taking into account best practices and historical performance
Assist with handling all billing of media platforms on a monthly basis
Regular client communication in providing regular deliverables and communicating updates and innovations relevant to their business
Work closely with vendor contacts for optimal negotiation.
0-2 years of hands-on paid social planning and buying, preferably some agency experience or marketing-related internship
Ability to work well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment
Aptitude for learning new skills (both technical and organic) and procedures is essential
Strong working competency in Facebook is mandatory, experience in Twitter, Snap, LinkedIn, and other social platforms are preferred
Experience working in an integrated capacity with planning, account and creative teams; CPG/DTC client experience is a plus
Experience working with third-party vendors for audience insights, brand safety, etc.
Ability to look at data and develop thoughtful, actionable insights from it
Exceptional written, verbal, negotiation and troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees and clients
Strong time management skills
Proficient math and analytical skills, as well as computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Attention to detail and advanced follow-through skills
Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and an ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
