Develop and maintain strong relationships with key journalists at target national newspapers, key industry/trade press, and the legal press in the U.S. and Latin America to raise the external profile of the firm
Act as an ambassador for the firm with journalists
Devise and implement plans to maximize media opportunities for commentary, working closely with lawyers and business development in key practice groups and industry groups
Identify proactive media opportunities to support the marketing of our key industry groups
Position and pitch lawyers to the media as thought leaders in their areas of focus
Provide detailed briefings for spokespeople in advance of journalist meetings/calls
Advise media spokespeople on best practice for media relations and provide in-house training when required
Draft, edit, distribute and follow up on press releases to announce firm news (whether related to deals, successes, firm-wide news)
Provide guidance to marketing and business development colleagues, lawyers and business services colleagues on communications style and content
Distribute media clips to lawyers and marketing and business development colleagues, where appropriate
Oversee maintenance of media contact lists, including use of media monitoring and contact platforms
Coordinate the global monthly media report in coordination with colleagues in Asia and EMEA
Assist in writing and editing other communications as required (e.g. articles, reports, white papers, surveys)
Ensure issues and topics are being fully utilized across our communications channels (e.g. insight production, website, social media, press and internal channels) by producing, agreeing and implementing communications plan
Ensure website content is up-to-date (e.g. press releases are published on the website, lead content is featured on the homepage)
Ensure media opportunities are being fully realized across communication channels including working closely with the Digital Communications Specialist in New York who manages the firms social media channels

Legal and Compliance – Investor Communications and Marketing Materials
The Associate will work closely with the members of a new marketing and investor communications team, as well as others on Blackstone's global Legal and Compliance (L&C) team.
The Associate will be a member of a new investor communications and marketing team, which will serve as the primary day to day counsel to the Investor Relations and Business Development groups (IRBD) across all business units within Blackstone with respect to marketing materials and other communications and documents provided to investors. In this capacity, the Associate will assist with legal and compliance matters that arise in connection with investor suitability, domestic and global marketing registration, marketing material compliance review, and investor communications. Initially, the Associate will focus on Blackstone's corporate credit business, GSO Capital Partners, with the goal of providing support to a broader range of products through the marketing and investor communications team at a later date. More specifically, the Associate will:
* Review marketing materials, due diligence responses, investor communications and other fundraising and reporting related materials across various investment strategies from a legal, regulatory and compliance perspective
* Manage the L&C relationship with IRBD
* Provide support relating to materials responsive to existing investors' legal and compliance-related requests

* Develop educational materials and trainings for IRBD business professionals with respect to marketing and fundraising regulations and protocols

Craft and ensure high quality of multimedia content, including research summaries, email announcements, press releases, messaging docs, newsletters, website content, op-eds, and other written materials for external and internal audiences.
Manage social media channels, carrying through key messages and insights to establish CGEP as a leading online voice in the energy policy space. Curate and schedule content daily to drive engagement. Explore and execute new social media strategies to grow CGEP's audience.
Support production and dissemination of the Columbia Energy Exchange podcast series. Ideate and book guests, help coordinate research and prep, draft email announcements and summaries of episodes, and be the point person to release weekly episodes.
Drive forward design and document production for CGEP research products and ad hoc projects. Be the main point of contact for design vendors, manage timelines and maintain quality control over production.
Build and strengthen media relations with top tier energy, business, political and trade media (across print, digital and broadcast outlets). Monitor industry and political news cycles and proactively pitch and secure coverage of CGEP research, events, podcasts, programs and other projects. Schedule and prep media interviews with CGEP scholars and track total media coverage.
