The Media Archivist will catalog, convert, archive, and retrieve Regent's digital media content. This position will see that digital media content is labeled and storage standards are followed. The candidate will also assist clients with archiving and retrieving media. The Media Archivist position is a part-time position.
Essential duties:
Collaborates with leadership to maintain and update protocols/standards.
Catalog pertinent information and metadata of Regent's digital media content into the "Media Content Archive" system.
Assist clients with archiving and retrieving media.
Categorize media assets existing on current storage media and move them to LTO Storage.
Determine and maintain the rights management of digital assets.
Develop and maintain video collections and subsets.
Stay informed of current content management trends and practices.
Qualifications:
Must be able to follow Regent's digital media content archiving standards and policies
Must be able to accommodate a varied workweek with the availability to work an occasional evening or weekend if required
Must be able to use standard word processing and spreadsheet software for reports, graphics, and statistics
Knowledge of professional data storage solutions which are optimized for video storage and require very high capacity file storage, such as Facilis, FastTracker, and Xen Data LTO, preferred
Candidates must have:
Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with other people
Ability to plan and organize work with limited supervision
