1.Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university required.
2.Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
3.Must be highly qualified as defined by the Michigan State Dept. of Education.
4.Experience working with at-risk youth.
5.High degree of technology skills
6.Willingness to learn the tenants of Response to Intervention and Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (RTI/PBIS)
7.Desire to collaborate with peers and work as a team

Essential Job Duties:
1.Teaches district approved curriculum
2.Creates a safe and respectful classroom environment for all learners
3.Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional technology to engage all learners
4.Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons and units
5.Uses a variety of formative and summative assessments
6.Takes a trauma-sensitive approach when working with students
7.Communicates professionally to students, parents, and colleagues
8.Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
9.Other duties as assigned by building administrator

Other duties involve managing the operation of the school bus to ensure a safe and hazard-free environment for all students. QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School diploma or GED Other Requirements: Must meet health requirements of the State of Michigan (physical required) Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license and have a clean driving record Must submit to a Criminal Background Check, as required by state law. Must have or be able to obtain a CDL license, include B, P, and S endorsements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Comply with all traffic ordinances and laws governing the operating of a school vehicle * Demonstrate proficiency in handling and maneuvering school bus * Participate in all required training and in-service * Perform assigned duties within the scheduled time frame * Perform and properly complete daily pre- and post-trip inspections of bus * Responsible for cleanliness of bus interior and maintain a safe and barrier-free aisle * Comply with district policies regarding student discipline and communication Displays professional behavior at all times while representing the school district REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor TERMS: School year only (1.5 - 4.5 hours per day, depending on route assignment) SALARY: Training wages $10 per hour / Beginning wage for bus drivers and sub bus drivers is $14.50 per hour BENEFITS: Per Agreement between the Allegan Public Schools and the Allegan Bus Drivers Interested and qualified candidates should apply online at: (ONLINE APPLICATIONS through Frontline) Please direct questions about the position or the application process to: Amy Christman, Director of Finance and Operations Allegan Public Schools 550 Fifth Street - Allegan MI 49010 (269) 673-5431 Allegan Area Schools Application Consortium Allegan MI
