The Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator maintains medical staff services and credentialing/privileging, obtains necessary information to complete appointment and reappointment processes, maintains accurate files credentialing with regard to verification documentation, demographics, committee attendance, National Practitioner Data Bank, malpractice insurance and state medical licensure/certification. In addition, the position supports medical staff committees, as required and maintains medical staff bylaws, rules/regs and policies.

License or Certification: - CPCS or CPMSM encouraged Education, Training and Years of Experience:

  • High school degree preferred

  • Three years experience in medical staff credentialing preferred Machines, Equipment Used: - General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer. Physical

    Requirements:
    - Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 15 pounds and ability push/pull a minimum of 25 pounds, which includes the lifting, pushing and/or pulling. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.

  • Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.

  • Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch are required for patient care functions and in setting up and monitoring equipment Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively.

  • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

  • Ability to work independently without supervision. Environmental Conditions: - Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.

  • Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.

  • Handicapped accessible.

  • May work under stressful circumstances at times. Proficiency or Productivity Standards:

  • Meets established attendance standards.

  • Adheres to hospital/department dress code including wearing ID badge.

  • May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.

  • May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.

  • Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before, during or after a disaster.

  • May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.

  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Summary: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the accounting functions relating to month-end close, management reporting and external reporting (GAAP and STAT) for the Company's insurance carriers and related affiliates. Essential Functions: * Perform general accounting functions for insurance agency and insurance companies. * Prepare journal entries in support of the financial close process. * Reconcile and balance subsidiary ledgers to general ledger for assigned accounts. Take action to resolve reconciliation issues in a timely manner. * Work independently and as part of the team to manage all assigned financial close and reporting tasks. * Prepare, review and/or interpret financial data to determine reasonableness and accuracy. Prepare relevant and timely financial analyses as needed. * Prepare audit schedules and assist in the completion of the annual audit. * Prepare financial reports used for fluctuation analysis, financial reporting disclosures, management reporting and external reporting (GAAP and STAT regulatory reporting). * Independently take initiative to resolve issues within area of responsibility. Additional Responsibilities: * Perform special projects as assigned. * Develop working relationships with internal and external customers. * Develop working knowledge of insurance accounting and financial reporting. * Handle all inquiries in a timely manner and research problems as required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including but not limited to Excel. * Knowledge of accounting software applications. * Knowledge of general accounting principles. * Good attention to detail. * Good decision making and judgement skills. * Good organization and time management skills. * Strong commitment to task assigned. Experience/Education: * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred. * 1 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred. "Why work for us?"
