The UNM-Valencia Campus is seeking a part-time Med Lab Teaching Assistant. This position will prepare the nursing labs that support the program core curriculum, to include setting up and breaking down the health science division labs.

This position will maintain laboratory inventory, ensure the cleanliness of lab and supplies, coordinate and conduct training of faculty, other staff, and students on new simulation equipment as well as usage of the nursing lab and lab supplies. This position will collect and analyze data regarding supplies, supply chains and pricing of supplies, collect data relevant to nursing accreditation (ACEN), and participate in the development of departmental projects, research, and community service directly related to teaching field.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,400 students per semester.

Conditions of Employment

  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher, related to health field

  • Experience using Laerdal or similar simulation equipment

  • Experience in an associate's degree nursing program

  • Current CPR Certification

  • Clinical experience within the last five years
