Ideal candidate will experience and skills with:

  • Analyzes Electro/Mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment, plans for and takes corrective action

  • Understand production equipment and control system requirements

  • Proficient with Fanuc, Allen Bradley & Siemens controls

  • Proficient with designing & implementing AC&DC VFD's, motors & controls

  • Coordinate PLC & control system with mechanical design

  • Develop, debug & troubleshoot PLC, HMI and control systems

  • Notifies maintenance department supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality/safety problems or supplies needed

  • Instructs and directs any maintenance trainees assigned

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment and apparatuses using hand and power tools

  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with the applicable codes

  • Completion of any other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Word and Excel

VIEW JOBS 9/30/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-12-29T00:00 We are currently looking for a Spring/Summer Engineering Co-Op who will work for about 4-5 months with the Hydraulic Engineering team at American Hydro, located in York, PA. Student must be currently enrolled in a degreed undergraduate program at a Regionally Accredited college or university with at least 2 years of schooling complete. This isn't your typical co-op, and we aren't your typical team. Learn about an exciting industry that has a rich history in the York area and be a part of a team who is looking to bring new ideas to improve an "old-school" energy source. Accountabilities: * Assists the Hydraulic and Mechanical engineering departments * Introduced to engineering standards & practices and learn about the hydro turbine components designed and manufactured at American Hydro * Trained in our current CAD software and will create drawings as directed * Additional advanced software training may be provided to experienced trainees to include structural finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics * Willingness and capacity to learn and adapt * Accuracy in drawings and calculations * Speed of correct completion of tasks assigned Main Responsibilities: * Practice Mechanical Engineering skills as needed to assist in project design development. Must recognize limitation gaps in education/experience and consult freely with appropriate supervisor to efficiently complete assigned tasks while learning the job function * Perform data reduction and prepare tabular/graphical presentations * Become proficient in use of company design/analysis software and interpretation of the results * Exercise communication skills in report writing and proposal development * Assist in assembly of company's technical documents (example: Operations & Maintenance manuals, proposals, model test reports, engineering reports, etc.) * Assist field engineers/shop personnel to collect machine data, complete check sheets, perform hardware inspections, index testing, etc Successful candidate must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, and must be in the immediate York, PA area (or be able to relocate at their own expense).
