Job Description
SUMMARY
Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status in order to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations.
To provide project maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair support for the Ravenswood facility
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Will plan a project from conception to completion including clean up and reordering of materials used
Must work within close tolerances to provide acceptable fit and finish to projects.
Accept responsibility for implementation of reliability improvement, productivity improvement, and process development projects as assigned.
Recommend modifications to improve reliability and productivity of all plantwide equipment as appropriate. Fabricate/install modifications as authorized.
Work with management to develop solutions to recurring problems. Follow solutions and modifications through the installation. Follow up to evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken.
Read Operator's logs daily to stay current with problems, action taken, and production status. Document daily work in the log before leaving the Plant.
Responsible for understanding and completing activities to achieve the Daily Flex goals
Will fill in on the furnace operating crew on weekends as needed, if certified.
Change oil and filters in gear boxes, hydraulic pumps, air compressors, etc and grease wear parts
Perform a wide variety of plant maintenance, routine service, and repair (after training) on mechanical equipment. This includes changing belt, replacement of wear parts, cleaning and inspections
Paint equipment as required
Perform other maintenance and repair assignments as required
Change oil in gear boxes and grease wear parts on preventive maintenance intervals
Carefully follow standard maintenance procedures and acceptable practices
Maintain equipment, compressors, conveyors, sprinkler systems, washers and blowers
Keep exterior of mechanical equipment clean and in good repair
Paint equipment as required
Safely operate forklifts, cranes and light duty trucks
Assist with rebuilding of Hydraulic and other mechanical equipment.

Move, place, dismantle, set-up and align all types of plant machines and equipment.
Uses most feasible routes to move heavy items using hoists, rollers, dollies, bars etc
Perform necessary rigging operation.
Locate and set motors and shafts.
Maintain equipment, compressors, conveyors, sprinkler systems, washers and blowers.
Perform general maintenance work on building such as making repairs to floors, stairs, roofs and windows.
Disassemble, repair, assemble and adjust machines and mechanisms.
Assemble and install prefabricated metal racks, cabinets, structural frames, etc
Communicate and conduct oneself in a professional manner that is conducive to a healthy and productive business environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement programs. Provide input, as able, to the various quality, equipment, training and operation issues within TIMET.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned.
Guiding and overseeing other apprentices.
Liaising with clients, vendors, and other Mechanical Technicians and Maintenance employees.
Coordinate and assist cross-functional teams as needed.

LANGUAGE SKILL - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma/GED is required; 2-year degree in trade school desired.
2 years' experience with mechanical maintenance and repair; plumbing and silver soldering, pneumatic & hydraulic systems
SPECIAL SKILLS
Ability to weld desirable
Experience with Limble or other CMMS is ideal
Vacuum pump/systems experience is ideal
EB Hearth and VAR Melting experience is desired
Familiarity with Condition Based Machine Monitoring Equipment is ideal
Rigging and Lifting experience is desired
ADDITIONAL NOTES
To progress to the next grade level employees must fulfill the progressive requirements of previous levels and there must be an open position. Employees must be in good standing, active participation in Risk Notification, 6S, Safety activities, works weekends, holidays and overtime based on the needs of the department.
Entry into levels I, II, or III will be determined based on skills and qualifications.
Must be willing to work overtime to ensure projects are implemented on a timely basis.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Lift up to 35lbs
Must be able to wear a respirator.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk or sit; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Often required to assume awkward positions while working on hydraulics, etc. Uses wrenches & other tools for torquing. Normal lifting is limited to 35 lbs. per individual, but items may be awkward size.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The typical work environment is manufacturing setting
The employee is frequently required to perform work in a manufacturing environment in uncontrolled temperatures with frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical parts / work in high, precarious places / fumes or airborne particles / toxic or caustic chemicals / risk of electrical shock; the typical noise level is moderate noise
