Position Summary: To work within ther repair center environment to provide quality and timely service to our customers. Equipment used includes powered material handling equipment, hand and powered banders, computer terminals and manifesting systems, stretch wrap and shrink-wrap machines, and power tools.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to read, write, hear and speak in English

  • Ability to follow directions

  • Possess good communication skills

  • Possess basic math aptitude

  • Must posess an emphasis on safety and continuous improvement

  • Must have the ability to work overtime as directed

  • Prior warehousing, material handling, shipping/receiving, computer terminal use and/or forklift experience is preferred.

  • The minimum physical requirements for this position are the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; use fingers and hands, and reach with hands and arms; frequently stand, walk, stoop, crouch, and kneel; occasionally balance, climb (up and down stairways), crawl or sit; the ability to use a computer terminal and handheld RF scanner.

This shift has the normal hours of 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with overtime following the normal end time as directed. These hours are subject to change depending on workload and processes. This shift will have a 30 minute non-paid lunch period.

Note: All qualified and eligible candidates will go through a selection process. Based on application, including past and present knowledge, skills and abilities, job performance, attendance, selection process test scored and interview notes, the most qualified applicants will be chosen for the position. These applicants will than be required to apply at our designated temporary agency; if the applicant meets the continued requirements following the pre-determined timeframe, the applicant will be offered a position at Snap-on.

Responsibilities & Qualifications Duties may include: * Coordinate and consult with engineers to layout, design, and detail components to meet design objectives or resolve issues. * Develop designs, detail and assembly drawings for mechanical equipment, dies and tools, using Pro-Engineer or SpaceClaim. * Design and develop test fixtures and systems that are used within engineering and production to test and validate the operation and performance of machine designs. * Troubleshooting and conditioning of prototypes during the development process. * Design for improvements and manufacturing cost reductions. * Technical analysis to evaluate proposed products or enhancements, possibly including Finite Element Analysis using Ansys or Pro/Mechanica. * Working closely with other engineering disciplines and related functions. * Perform tolerance analysis and dimensional check of designs. * Participate in project management activities and estimating. * Coordinate part fabrication with both internal and external machine shops. * Laboratory testing of various machines or subsystems and creating test reports. Candidate Qualifications: * Candidates for consideration should be pursuing a B.S. or B.T. in Mechanical Engineering and be in good standing with the University. Preference will be given to engineering students between the junior and senior year. * An interest in the design of machines, equipment, and hand tools. A background in working with or around mechanical devices and mechanisms is preferred. * Working knowledge of Pro Engineer or SpaceClaim is desirable, but not required. * Posses a basic understanding of manufacturing technologies such as stamping, plating, molding, machining, and assembly. * Good application skills of Microsoft Office tools, such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills are essential. * The position is located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
