Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician at our Cleveland, OH facility.

In this hourly position, you will be a vital member of the Cleveland Air Separation Operations Team, responsible for maintaining/troubleshooting all equipment and conducting day-to-day facility maintenance. You will actively participate in basic safety processes, sharing in the responsibility for the site's overall safety performance.

We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude; a motivated individual capable of handling a variety of projects, with the flexibility to take on unplanned or emergency repairs.


  • Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment and/or related military experience

  • High school diploma or equivalency

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of static and rotating equipment using appropriate tools and test equipment

  • Background in maintaining pumps, mechanical seals, vessels, exchangers, steam turbines, gas turbines, gear drives, safety valves, and reciprocating and centrifugal compressors is essential. Strong machinery and rotating equipment knowledge is a plus.

  • Must have experience with cranes and rigging

  • Must have experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment

  • Must have experience safely handling a wide variety of hand and power tools.

  • Must have a strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work safely as an individual or in a team environment, and in in accordance with all company safe work practices

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders or steps; elevated work may be required

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Must be able to meet call-in requirements as needed

  • Will be exposed to high noise levels
