Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Mechanical Systems Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
The Mechanical Systems Responsible Engineer will be part of a team that is the technical point of contact for the system. The Mechanical RE will be expected to learn the system quickly and develop a deep understanding of the technical intricacies of how the system functions, solve problems related to any current issue and/or pursue future development opportunity related to the system, work as the technical lead with supplier teams and hold them to deliver quality products, and put together briefs for management about a variety of topics - including existing issues and proposals for future pursuits as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of engineering experience or a Master's Degree in stem from an accredited university with 0 years of engineering experience.
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher with background investigation completed within the past 6 years.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
Experience as a supplier management team technical lead, or experience in program management or systems engineering.
Current, active Special Program Access
6 months experience with CATIA V5
Experience with hydraulic systems analysis and design
Experience with structures or subsystem installation design
Experience presenting technical content to upper management
