We are looking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding infrastructure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. Qualified systems engineers will have a background in systems engineering and analysis.

The ideal Candidate is mathematically and mechanically minded and has strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. The position includes responsibility for analyzing the complex engineering systems within several product lines for the company. With a strong working knowledge of engineering principles, this role must collaborate with cross-functional teams over multiple disciplines with an objective to discover problems that need to be resolved through innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years mechanical engineering experience.
  • Comfortable in fast paced work environments and analyzing multiple projects.
  • Ability to perform static stress analysis using classical mechanics and FEA.
  • Proven ability to perform system level thermal analysis using classical thermal mechanics and FEA.
  • Expert understanding of mechanical properties of common materials including metals, plastics and composites.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Takes initiative and can work effectively with little direction and/or few guidelines.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Candidates must be authorized to lawfully work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Finite Element Analysis for evaluating component and assembly stress and fatigue.
  • Understanding of engineering principles related to structural analysis and failure modes (e.g., fatigue, static failure, creep, etc.).
  • Understanding of basic metallurgical principles and familiarity with material options and properties.
  • Competence in classic hand analysis methods for vetting results.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Highly organized.
