Mechanical System Engineer

Piper Companies is looking for a Mechanical System Engineer to join an IT consulting company for the Department of Defense (DoD). This is fully onsite in Indian Head, MD.

Essential Duties of the Mechanical System Engineer:

• Responsible for planning, executing, and tracking the engineering development and qualification efforts of weapons systems.

• System qualification test planning and coordination.

• Briefings to safety and engineering oversight boards.

• Providing written and oral program status reports.

Qualifications of the Mechanical System Engineer:

• 5+ years of experience with DoD weapon system acquisition in a systems engineering-focused environment.

• Knowledge of energetic system test and evaluation

• Understanding of explosive train technology and functionality

• Eligibility to work in the United States.

• B.S. in Engineering

Compensation for the Mechanical System Engineer:

• $130,000 - $160,000 (based on experience)
