We are currently looking for a Mechanical Specialist/Sr. Mechanical Specialist Technician for our Clarksdale, MS office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily activities and performing mechanical maintenance and repair on reciprocating, centrifugal compression, and axillary equipment at the Clarksdale Compressor Station. You will assist with the maintenance activities related to Electrical, Controls, and Automation for assigned areas, including, but not limited to performing all required installation, operation, testing, maintenance and repair of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment. Duties will also include operating the station, maintaining auxiliary equipment, valve inspections, atmospheric corrosion monitoring, tank gauging, facility yard maintenance, gas sampling and responsible for maintaining all tools and equipment assigned to this position. You will be required to comply with all DOT, OSHA and Environmental rules and regulations and will regularly lead projects, have responsibility and authority to make decisions about equipment, and will be expected to participate in the On Call duties of the Area and respond to call-outs. Responsibilities also include compliance documentation for assigned area and the successful completion of all of the Operator Qualification tasks assigned to this role. You must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and also be able to meet minimum physical and educational standards established by company. This role will be located at our Clarksdale Compressor Station and may occasionally assist other areas with E&I work. The successful candidate will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures. This primary area of responsibility for this role will be at our Clarksdale Compressor Station and the successful candidate will be required to reside within 30 miles of this facility.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • More than 3 years of experience on pipeline operating systems

  • Mechanical, electrical, and technical skills

  • DOT 192 and DOT 195 knowledge and experience in compliance

  • Solid understanding of Instrumentation and Automation

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel

  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills and a strong ability for prioritizing and scheduling multiple projects

  • Experience with Microsoft programs

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow Company procedures and manufacturers guidelines

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet in order to transfer tools and equipment

  • Ability to work alone as required in extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy and wet environments

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle

  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety

  • High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College or technical school degree in a related field

  • Gas pipeline maintenance experience

  • Electrical experience

  • Instrumentation experience

  • 5+ years of natural gas operations and maintenance experience

  • Associate's degree of Certificate of Completion in Electrical or Electronics Technology from an institution accredited by one of the National Regional Accrediting Bodies
