Collins Aerospace is looking for an individual Mechanical Repair Technician II for our Miami, FL Landing gear Facility, one of the most rapidly growing facilities across the company. Under moderate supervision, you will use your experience, knowledge & judgment to accomplish various goals & objectives. You will use standard & multifaceted procedures to perform increasingly complex task. In addition, you will demonstrate your use of specialty skills & techniques for testing, in depth troubleshooting, assembling, disassembling, cleaning, detailed inspection, final prep of commercial and military landing gear and hydraulic actuators.

This position will be working in an Onsite capacity.

This position is not eligible for relocation

2nd Shift: Mon.

• Fri. 2:30PM-11:00PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Proficient in the assembly and disassembly of commercial and military landing gear and hydraulic actuators.

• Demonstrate safe work habits & maintain a clean & professional work area & participate in daily cleaning activities.

• Must have advanced troubleshooting knowledge & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment.

• Assembling shock struts, trunnions, drag braces, etc.

• Able to interpret and accomplish Component Maintenance Manuals, Aircraft technical publications and blueprint documents.

• Using hand tools, torque wrenches, and measuring devices such as vernier calipers and micrometers.

• understanding of Core principles such as FOD control CI and 5S principles.

• Work in close cooperation with your direct supervisor & other support personnel such as the Shop Engineer, Customer Service, Buyer, & Final Inspectors in a professional manner to resolve issues according to FAA & company regulations as directed

• Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

• HS diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant aircraft experience OR

• In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience is required.

• Current or previous experience with blueprint reading and overhaul manuals for assembly purposes

• Ability to operate hand tools, electrical pneumatic, hydraulic and test equipment

• Current or previous experience with troubleshooting and testing mechanical devices.

• Must be able to use measuring tools such as: micrometers, calipers, height gage, hydraulic gages, etc.

• "Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position."

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current or previous experience working on aircraft landing gears.

• A&P license or aviation degree preferred.

• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft office, Excel, and Microsoft word)

• Aircraft repair or manufacturing mechanic preferred.

• Ability to troubleshoot & be able to use measuring gauges & test equipment
