We are looking for an experienced Data Center QA/QC engineer to support a critical facility data center. This Mechanical QA/QC Engineering role will help to ensure that the facilities and buildings are working as intended. They will help to monitor daily mechanical installation. This person will have extensive commissioning and testing knowledge within data centers. You will be responsible for the overall QA / QC of the operation and maintenance of multiple critical facility infrastructure systems in accordance with company's policies and procedures. These Data Centers are a 7x24x365 a year operation. The QA/QC Engineer leads and executes quality control and quality assurance of data center critical facilities systems preparing for the commissioning process. The QA/QC Engineer ensures that the correct equipment has been purchased and that installation is in accordance with industry standards and equipment specifications. This role is responsible for equipment acceptance, installation, and proper startup. The QA/QC Engineer is critical to company's continued success and growth and ensures construction integrity adherence and client data center operations at maximum operational efficiency to minimize issues in future and to avoid any potential downtime.Responsibilities:
  • QA/QC of Critical Environment Programs for both internal and external clients
  • Analyze processes, create process documentation, develop operational procedures and communicate effectively with both business and operations managers, Facilities Manager, Technicians and any other contracted vendors
  • Site acceptance and commissioning of the facility to ensure the site meets the superior and dynamic standards of Company Standards
  • Delivery of quality and consistent services and support as established by the Corporation while satisfying unique site requirements and ensuring proper performance reporting of key metrics for the site
  • Perform periodic site walk-throughs in order to ensure Company’s procedures (SOPS and MOPS) and standards are followed
  • Assess, recommend and implement industry best practices into new and existing Critical Environment Programs
  • Develop process documentation and training materials
  • Accountable for the quality and workmanship of every activity, precise knowledge of all aspects of engineering construction relating to MEP discipline interfacing the multidisciplinary processes
  • Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other important QA/QC documents
  • Review MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical data center facility equipment
  • Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes
  • Review the quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials
  • Conduct analyses, testing and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenance
  • Supervise the effective implementation of all test and inspection schedules and ensure adherence to all procedures and coordinate with various teams to perform quality audits on processes
  • Assist with employees to ensure knowledge of all quality standards and ensure compliance to all quality manuals and procedures and collaborate with contractors and suppliers to maintain the quality of all systems
  • Manage to lift all types of equipment and handle the efficient storage of all hazardous materials and perform quality audits as per the required schedule
  • Analyze all products and non-conformance processes and evaluate all documents to ensure the maintenance of optimal quality and prepare monthly reports to evaluate performance
  • Monitor an efficient system and record for all project activities and analyze all processes to ensure all work according to quality requirements
  • Manage all work methods and maintain knowledge on all quality assurance standards
  • Monitor continuous application for all quality assurance processes and recommend corrective actions for all processes
  • Develop a method statement for the activity including risk assessment, job safety environmental optimization and analysis, Inspection Test Plan and Checklist based on specifications of the project
  • Work with business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, optimize performance, reliability and efficiency
  • Coordinate with the consultant's representative, Site In-charge for inspection, and Design/Construction Team
Qualifications:
  • Data Center Commissioning Experience a plus
  • Data Center QA /QC Experience
  • Bachelor’s / Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training certificate / hands on experience a plus
  • 5-10 years of experience in data center facilities operations, construction, engineering or commissioning
  • Solid Understanding of Critical Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment in a data center environment
  • Develop and administer functional tests for various building MEP systems, such as: fire alarm and control systems, HVAC, Chillers and CRAC units
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army -  Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)
  • Experience with IEEE/ASHRAE procedures and protocols a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills; Good presentation skills
  • Superior analytical, planning and problem resolution skills
  • Highly organized with proved project management abilities
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project
