To provide project maintenance and set up support for the Morgantown equipment and furnaces
Will plan a project from conception to completion including clean up and reordering of materials used (through the Foreman/General Foreman)
Will perform clean-out and chamber set-up on an as needed basis.
Must work within close tolerances to provide acceptable fit and finish to projects.
Accept responsibility for implementation of reliability improvement, productivity improvement, and process development projects as assigned.
Inspect molds and dovetail puller assemblies regularly during clean-outs and/or after they are removed from a melting campaign. Make repairs or coordinate repairs though the Melt Shop Foreman, Sr. Mech Technician or outside contractors
Recommend modifications to improve reliability and productivity of both E.B. Furnaces as appropriate.
Fabricate/install modifications as authorized. Work with management to develop solutions to recurring problems. Follow solutions and modifications through the installation. Follow up to evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED is required
Formal trade school or applicable experience necessary
Experience with Mechanical maintenance and repair
Experience with Pneumatic & hydraulic systems
Must have good communication skills and be able to provide training to operators and other set up technicians.
Ability to TIG/MIG and stick weld.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and overtime.
Must be able to wear a respirator
Ability to copper weld desirable
