Mechanical Preconstruction Project Manager

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S.

Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.

We are looking for a Mechanical Preconstruction Project Manager (MPPM) candidate to join our Mechanical Preconstruction team located in Carlsbad, CA, supporting work being installed on the East Coast. Our Mechanical Preconstruction PM's are responsible for the direction, and coordination of all mechanical preconstruction activities to produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

This position may also assist the Mechanical Department Leader as required with other scopes of work. Qualifications include:

• A high school diploma or GED is the minimum formal education required for this position.

• Courses in project management, construction management, mechanical trade school, BIM and CADD, etc. preferred.

• A combined total of 10+ years in the mechanical industry with 5 or more years work experience as a mechanical Project Manager / Preconstruction. Experience creating conceptual estimates and managing design for mechanical and plumbing systems highly desirable; Work in the design-build government, military, or large commercial construction industry is preferred.

• Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS) preferred. Training can be provided.
