What We're Looking For
High school diploma or GED
Technical Certificate preferred
5+ years of verifiable industrial mechanical experience as a 1st class mechanic; OR
2-year electrical technical degree and related experience
Ability to successfully complete all AGY's assessment criteria including, but not limited to, mechanical equipment series assessments
Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude by passing mechanical theory test
Skilled in use of all shop tools and equipment
Ability to lift 26 - 50 pounds
Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, squat, twist, turn, climb, work overhead, wear required PPE, and work in a hot and confined environment
Ability to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and overtime as required
What You'll Do as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Perform mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance on any plant equipment, facility, and/or process
Complete projects with little to no supervision
Lead, assist, train, and assign teammates
Install, maintain, repair, and modify plant equipment, facility and/or process improvements
Perform any type of electric arc and acetylene welding and cutting assignments
Operate shop tools and equipment for fabrication of or reworking parts and any other tools
Diagnose and correct equipment/process problems
Complete required records and reports
Perform other tasks as assigned
