Mechanical Maintenance Technician
Summary of Position:
The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining equipment associated with the production, packaging and distribution of Kimberly Clark Products through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance work.
Work safely and protect the safety of others
Basic machine shop, welding and fabricating skills
Actively participate in a High Performance Work Team environment, sharing knowledge and skills with all other team members.
Supports the planning and execution of daily/weekly shutdown activities
Actively participates in failure analysis and equipment/ systems troubleshooting
Provide routine maintenance training to team members
Participates in cost effective decision making for example, labor, part, and materials.
Actively participates in the design, implementation and upgrade of all reliability programs
Identify and maintain critical spare inventory levels, working with stores.
Set up and operator all types of mechanical tools which could include general machinist tools, alignment devices
Read blue prints and related technical literature as required. Fabricate jobs form blue prints and sketches
Learn window-based computer systems and Kimberly Clark specific systems such as SAP, TALCM and DTR
Be willing and have the mechanical aptitude to lead and execute repairs on high speed rotating equipment
To work with and lead others (operators, crafts, contractors, suppliers)
To be proficient in the assembly, disassembly and installation of mechanical systems and components commonly found on high speed rotating equipment.
To be proficient in the safe execution of rigging and large equipment transportation.
Team leader, maintenance planners, operating crews, machine leaders, and project leaders
Ensure that maintenance activities are accomplished within mill area teams in a manner that supports mill and department objectives. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. Own and drive machine uptime. Visible leader of Lead principles (I.e. engagement, leader standard work, zone control, problem solving). Ensure corrective and preventative action for all machine non-conformances and support operating crews when needed.
High School Diploma/GED
Must be able to work overtime including nights holidays weekends and/or 12 hour rotating shifts
Read and write basic English
Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)
Candidate must be able to work on elevated work platforms, catwalks, scaffolding, and enter confined work spaces
Candidate must follow all site and asset safety practice and procedures and value working safely
Good problem solving and decision making skills
Ability to work safely in a multi functional team environment
Able to handle multiple priorities
Must understand predictive, preventative maintenance concepts and demonstrate willingness to learn and continue education
Minimum 5 years trade/work experience in a related manufacturing field or equivalent including but not limited to the following:
Related two year technical degree
Equivalent military MOS
Experience with high speed manufacturing and converting equipment preferred
