Overview
We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Chattanooga plant.

Responsibilities
The incumbent assigns and supervises the work as arranged through the Maintenance Coordinator who has obtained the regular parts and supplies and has negotiated the required downtime with Production.
This work is executed through the maintenance crew and outside contractors as required for each job.
In addition to scheduled maintenance jobs the Maintenance Supervisor does any urgent or breakdown jobs as requested.
The Maintenance Supervisors are responsible to ensure the actual work is completed, area is clean and safe.
The Maintenance Supervisors are responsible to ensure the work order is closed and quality paln is completed in Oracle.
The Maintenance Supervisor indicates to the Maintenance Coordinator any anticipated jobs and points out when stores stocks need to be increased or altered, for upcoming jobs.
The Maintenance Supervisors are responsible for developing a reliable work force.
The incumbent is also responsible for training employees and for evaluating their skills, abilities, safety practices and behaviour. In cases of transfers the Supervisors recommend final approval or rejection and extensions of training where appropriate.
The Supervisors will assign work schedules and overtime as required, and will authorize time off as permitted, by the general needs of the department and in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
The incumbent will receive and attempt to resolve grievances to the levels provided for by the Collective Agreement.
The incumbent is responsible for being on call on a rotating basis to cover plant problems.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that Maintenance Deptartment tools and equipment are in good working condition and that adequate stocks of consumable are maintained.
Qualifications
Skills the candidate of this position must have are:
Must possess a minimum of a two-year degree in engineering or related fields, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering or relatable work experience
Must be proficient with reading blue prints and schematics.
Computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheets, database and word processing software.
Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to identify problems that arise and implement corrective measures.
