The Component and Subsystem Design Engineering aero teams are responsible for the aerodynamic design and validation of modules in the gas turbine main flow-path. Working alongside the mechanical design teams these aerodynamic teams specify the gas-washed surfaces and commit to system performance levels.

In this new role, the system design aerodynamics team also provides support to engine environmental protection such as foreign object damage, sand, ice and hot gas.

Guide and audit aero designs and the design process for fans and compressors and mentor to the full fan & compressor community, sharing design knowledge and insights as well as in-service experience.
Generate and interpret aerodynamic results from analysis and/or experimentation and guide others in those interpretations.
Contribute to our aerodynamics capability acquisition strategies.
Pass judgment on components that deviate from print tolerances.
Maintain and improve aerodynamics standards, requirements, and methods for the fan & compressor aerodynamic community, working with local and global councils as appropriate.
Expertise in aero design and broad understanding of associated mechanical design issues
The successful candidate will have experience from industry and/or academic research
