Position: Mechanical Integrity Engineer
Location: Valley Green, PA
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high
bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,
Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the
electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs
globally. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to join our
High Speed IO Connector team. The position will be located in Valley Green, PA.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer you will provide the lead in supporting the
development of new products through testing and analysis of data and designs.
Develop new products and processes via mechanical testing and qualification
of electrical connectors and components.
Develop test sequences and procedures to determine the long-term reliability
of electrical connectors that factor in customer use and application
requirements.
Process and analyze testing results, and create reports and presentations
for internal and external customers.
Support the product design effort in mechanical analysis such as tolerance
analysis, FEA, materials analysis, failure analysis and creating test plans.
Prepare test samples and test requests, design and fabricate test fixtures,
interface with test lab technicians.
Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing
personnel, supporting the development and validation of product prototypes
through pilot production, as well as interfacing with beta-site customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MS/PhD Mechanical Engineering with 5 - 10 years of experience
Experience with solid modeling tools - Pro/E and/or Solidworks
Experience with data analysis software, MS Excel, Minitab would be a plus
Experience developing test plans for mechanical and environmental stresses
of I/O connectors, ESD testing would be a plus
Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools desirable, ANSYS experience
would be a plus
Ability to communicate with technical & non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work in team environment
Desire to create and design new products and processes
Knowledge of copper alloys and high-performance engineering thermoplastics
would be a plus
Basic understanding of electrical connectors
