You will work closely with engineers, manufacturing and technical management and will be responsible for providing the integration, design and technical solutions for Hypersonic Program Ground Support Equipment products we manufacture. You will be relied upon to be the subject matter expert within the manufacturing department supporting the Hypersonic program. Come work with multidisciplinary engineers focused on delivering world class Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE). You will be responsible for the design solutions that support the Organization. As an Engineer, you will work with a diverse work force responsible for the development, design, fabrication, test, and delivery of MGSE. Job responsibilities include:

  • Independently develop mechanical design solutions of varying complexity using solid models, detailed drawings, and release of engineering work products.

  • Review requirements from various sources (stress, dynamics, systems, thermal, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure that applicable requirements are flowed into the detailed design of assigned products.

  • Collaborate with program leadership, domain experts, peers, configuration management, and manufacturing to ensure program requirements and schedules are met.

  • Contribute to the completion of Program achievements by the release of accurate, error-free, affordable and producible engineering designs.

  • Supports production meetings and manufacturing and test anomaly / discrepancy resolution

  • Provides weekly / monthly status and regularly present to peers / leadership.

The ideal candidate will have good communications skills (both oral and written) and a strong background in Mechanical Engineering processes. A willingness to travel is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated capabilities in design of any mechanical systems such as Production Line assembly tools, transport systems, large structural steel, work platforms, lifting structures, machine design mechanisms, or fluid & hydraulic systems.

  • Provide Mechanical design with drawing development and supporting documentation

  • Show proficient capabilities with engineering design CAD tools (Creo, Solidworks, etc.) and model-based product definition

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME Y14.5.

  • The position requires special access to multiple programs; US citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Fluids & Hydraulics Design Experience

  • Vehicle Transport System Experience

  • Capture Management/Proposal experience.

  • Demonstrated project leadership skills and the ability to lead and drive change.

  • Working knowledge of industry standards and federal regulations including ANSI, OSHA, and AWS standards applicable to mechanical and structural systems.

  • Working Knowledge of EPDM.

You will be perform in the role of a Senior Manufacturing Technician Specialist where you will develop, assemble, and fabricate structural and precision electrical/mechanical components and assemblies. This role requires that you to work from engineering drawings, written work instructions, and process specifications we use to meet our quality production standards. You will need to be a self-starter - capable of working independently, with minimal direction in an environment where the ability to work extended hours and weekends to support production demand is essential. Summary of Key Duties for this position: * Possess an Active Secret Clearance at time of application to perform in this role. * You contribute to the mechanical/electrical fabrication of flight and ground support hardware. * You complete electronic, mechanical, or electromechanical assembly. * You construct, fault isolate, calibrate, test, and maintain equipment: components, devices, and systems. * You interpret engineer drawings and build assemblies we use with minimal work instructions. * You utilize basic math and computers skills. * You configure initial layouts using hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. * You perform a variety of hands-on electrical assembly tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations. * You conduct in-process quality inspections on work in progress in accordance with quality specifications; make continuity checks on both work in progress and completed work. * You disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies under simulated conditions. * You work as a member of a team communicating technical issues to Manufacturing / Quality Engineers while supporting corrective actions. * Willingness to support occasional travel to remote sites in support of production operations. * Be able to be trained to perform all duties related to work you're doing in accordance with Lockheed Martin training requirements. Typical Experience: High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional specialized technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or proven ability to perform assigned technical/para-engineering tasks and 5 years of experience.
