Position

Overview:

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Installation Foreman with experience installing Material Handling equipment, whom will be part of a team that will perform Turnkey installations nationwide. The Foreman will also support ASEs service department as needed.

This position is available for the quality minded person that has the skill set and experience to successfully lead mechanical installations safely and efficiently. The position requires a person that can accommodate a flexible work schedule involving extensive traveling across the country, and someone who can address an emergency that at times, can include early morning or late-night hours.

The prime candidate will have experience installing conveyor systems, fabrication, and equipment maintenance. The Mechanical Foreman must be able to read plans and must display the skills of a Journeyman Level Millwright. The candidate must be able to communicate verbally and electronically with customers, contractors, crew members and ASE Project Managers.

Most importantly, the prime candidate must be convincing in his or her willingness to adhere to the safety requirements mandated by OSHA and all company safety policies.

Compensation will be dependent on previous work experience and as mentioned in this job listing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Lead Mechanical installations of Material Handling systems of up to 20 motors, with a crew of 2-6 mechanical installers.
  • Safely use hand tools, power tools, welders, and specialty equipment as needed to perform Mechanical installation of material handling equipment.
  • Read and understand drawings (Blueprints) and schematics of Material Handling Equipment.
  • Use of a computer, Smart Phone or Tablet to send and receive emails and documentation.
  • Track and maintain company tools and material.
  • Organize work area and cleaning of field materials and tooling.
  • Follow Company Code of Conduct and Safety Policies at all times.
  • Weld using an Arc or Mig electric or gas welder.
  • Inspect and drive company service vehicles.
  • Oversee and support sub-contractors.
  • Complete and submit all ASE and customer required documentation.
  • Report directly to ASE Project Management
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues related to distribution equipment such as conveyors and related components
  • Train Mechanical install technicians on proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements



Job Requirements:

  • Fulltime 40HR+ work week position.
  • Supervise a crew of 2-6 Mechanical installers.
  • Possess the skill set expected of a journeyman level Millwright.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings (blueprints) and schematics.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality to assigned schedule.
  • Ability to travel nationwide for days/ weeks at a time.
  • Possess a valid drivers license, insurance and be eligible to be covered under company auto insurance.
  • Must be able to receive and respond to after hours service calls when assigned to ASE call list. This may involve traveling several hours to facilities during the early morning.
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to use Power tools such as but not limited to a grinder, Sawzall, band saw, drill, impact, skill saw, hammer drill, etc.
  • Be certified, or able to be certified to operate Fork Lifts, Scissor lifts, Boom Lifts, and other heavy equipment as required.
  • Participate in and abide by all safety related programs, trainings and activities.
  • Ability to use a computer, Smart Phone, or Tablet to send and receive emails.
  • Possess a personal set of tools (List available).
  • Complete and submit all ASE and customer required documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent. Technical schooling preferred.
  • 5 years experience working with conveyor systems or other industrial equipment.
  • Previous electrical and/or mechanical knowledge a plus.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to drive company vehicles.
  • Pass background, drug screen and E-verify checks.
  • Experience working with conveyor systems or similar industrial machinery.
  • Experience in reading and understanding plans, wiring diagrams and/or technical drawings.
  • Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Knowledge of other construction trades a plus.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter, eager to learn and take on new tasks.
  • Arc or MiG electric or gas welding experience. Certified welder a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Conditions vary greatly depending on geographical location and can expose employee to cold or hot weather and humid or dry conditions.
  • Jobs are mostly indoors but can require outdoor work as well.
  • Ability to stand and work for up to twelve (12) hours in a workday.
  • Able to drive or be flown to long distances to work and stay the night(s) if necessary.
  • May be exposed to locations at elevation.
  • Tasks may cause you to work in awkward positions such as bending over frequently, working overhead, and working in tight spaces or on ladders.
  • Work around and near high/low voltage circuits.
  • Ability to stand for most if not all of the work day.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. in construction work environments.
  • Ability to work in loud industrial environment when required.
  • Ability to work in awkward positions, such us bending over frequently, working overhead, working in tight spaces or on ladders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Use of vibrating and jarring hand tools, power tools, welders, and heavy equipment on a regular basis.
  • Work performed can be part of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle deadline driven and sometimes stressful work environments.

Physical and Mental

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. in construction work environments.
  • Ability to work in loud industrial environment when required.
