The Candidate will work on mechanical engineering tasks for a variety of system integration projects, working as a member of a design team to take military projects from concept to production. Tasking includes, but is not limited to, research, specification, and documenting engineering drawings, plans, and other related documents and materials.
The individual will be called on to support program deliverables, evaluations and system assessments.
Will support modeling of components and assemblies as part of design, testing, and prototype fabrication.
Conducts design feasibility studies on existing military hardware systems and prepares detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication for new and modified designs. Develops static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Provides design information to drafting/CAD operators for the preparation of technical documentation.
Assists with planning functional test & evaluation events, including test parameters, cases, methodology, and criteria. Analyze results of testing using statistical methods and develop test reports and briefings to communicate results.
Will conduct functional requirements review to ensure they are objective and verifiable.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment, and packages is required, with a basic understanding of CAD software desired.
Experience with Microsoft-based applications such as Word, Excel, and Access, using Windows operating systems.
Excellent communication skills are required, and must be able to respond to customer needs in an efficient manner.
A proven history of working well within a team environment and the ability to communicate with senior management officials, as well as between different workgroups.
Analysis of corrosion effects on mechanical systems is highly desired.
Design and analysis of obsolescent mechanical systems, equipment, and packages is desired.
Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
Conduct Finite Element Analysis and testing on new and modified designs.
Familiarity with MIL-STD-31000A and ASME Y14.100 and the interpretation of drawing standards.
