Mechanical Engineering Intern

Overview

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Channing St. Copper Co., you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with our cross-functional team of engineers and designers to develop cutting-edge Energy Storage Equipped (ESE) appliances. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience, allowing you to design, prototype, and test mechanical components, all while working on products that contribute to the transition to all-electric homes.

This is a temporary summer position and it is expected to be in-office 4 days per week with 1 day flexible for in-office or remote work. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.

What you'll do

• Designing, prototyping, and testing mechanical components for Energy Storage Equipped (ESE) appliances.

• Creating detailed CAD models and technical drawings.

• Documenting your work and maintaining organized records.

• Performing detailed analysis and simulations to evaluate electromechanical designs.

• Collaborating with vendors to source components and materials for prototypes.

What you'll bring

• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering.

• Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot technical problems independently.

• Hands-on prototyping experience and a passion for building and creating.

• Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and concepts.

• Excellent communication skills, with a willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $30 - $40/hour.
