JOB SUMMARY

As the Mechanical Engineer/Document Control Supervisor within OIXT you will be a key part of the mechanical engineering team and will take responsibility for leading the document control function. You will provide expertise in core X-ray technologies including X-ray tubes, X-ray sources, vacuum and high voltage processing, X-ray optics, as well as X-ray measurement and Imaging techniques. You will be a key player in the development and realization of innovative technologies for X-ray products and X-ray tube processing.

At XT, you will use your proven project management experience to undertake and oversee the design, manufacturing and test of prototypes, x-ray tubes and assemblies. You will design, recommend and implement engineering tests to confirm product performance and process capability, using equipment in the manufacture and test of such products. In this role, you will create realistic development schedules and find creative ways to stay on schedule.

This key role in our Engineering team requires you demonstrate strong inter-departmental collaboration and a proactive nature. Your ability to interact effectively with colleagues and work as part of an interdisciplinary project team is an essential part of being a collaborative member of our Engineering team.

You will supervise and maintain the document control system, ensuring the timely and accurate implementation of change notices across the business. You will support all functions within the organization through the improvement and standardization of processes - enabling efficient controls for manufacturing, purchasing and vendor relations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Proven innovative design.

  • Experience of engineering change process and document control

  • 3+ years' experience developing technology blocks in X-ray or other electromagnetic radiation sources, detectors or high vacuum sub-systems.

  • High and Ultra High vacuum systems and techniques.

  • Experience of thermal and mechanical modelling and analysis

  • Proven project management and delivery from inception to completion. New Product Development and Introduction.

  • Design, assembly and testing of prototypes.

  • Computer literate MS Office Suite. CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks, including thermal and vibrational simulation. Matlab, MathCAD or similar highly desirable.

  • Background in scientific manufacturing industry.

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred
