Mechanical Engineer- Security Clearance RequiredVetegrity manages and directs the facility engineering design, construction & renovation, maintenance programs, and raised floor infrastructure for mission-critical DoD data centers.Position Overview:
  • Provides assistance in the development of projects and services with supporting engineering calculations to include rough sizing of mechanical systems, piping, ductwork and other facility systems and mechanical components
  • Provides reviews of complex designs and draft Statements of Work and Performance Work Statements
  • Supports project execution with engineering assistance for technical reviews and providing recommendations to the Government representative regarding contract status with schedule
  • Periodic site visits to customer data centers for data collection, commissioning and other project support is required
  • Must be able to work in a small team environment
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • 5 years of experience in building mechanical systems for data centers
  • 2 years of experience commissioning building mechanical systems for critical infrastructure
  • Background in project management
  • Must be proficient with office automation software (MS Office, AutoCAD)
  • Professional Engineering License preferred
  • Secret Security Clearance

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-03-06T00:00 <p>Overview</p><p>Merrick is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Equipment Engineer to join a team of engineering and design personnel serving the Nuclear Services &amp; Technology (NST) Business Unit (BU) in our project office in Greenwood Village, CO. This dynamic multi-discipline engineering group specializes in the design of prototype/one-off custom equipment, gloveboxes, hot cells, specialty research equipment and custom-designed, remotely operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials.</p><p>Job Description</p><ul><li><p>The Senior Mechanical Engineer will serve as lead on a team of engineers and designers within the equipment design group and interface and coordinate with other discipline leads (electrical, I&amp;C, structural, and process).</p></li><li><p>This individual is a degreed mechanical engineer and will execute advanced equipment designs such as containment systems (gloveboxes, containment hoods), material handling equipment, small scale process piping &amp; equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels.</p></li><li><p>The individual will be recognized as a technical leader and resource that provides expert consultation in one or more areas for the design, development and implementation of technical products and equipment engineering systems, and that recommends alterations and enhancements to improve quality of products and/or procedures.</p></li></ul><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Support development of functional and operational requirements, design criteria, and identification of applicable codes and standards for new design packages</p></li><li><p>Support designs for nuclear facility system upgrades and equipment installation design tasks</p></li><li><p>Provide design direction and design verification for the design deliverables which typically include engineering studies, fabrication drawings, detailed equipment sizing &amp; qualification calculations, integration and installation drawings, fabrication and procurement specifications, datasheets, and test plans.</p></li><li><p>Assist in the development of engineering project management plans</p></li><li><p>Assists project managers in tracking task progress including schedule and cost, scope including change management, design issues and staffing requirements.</p></li><li><p>Follow regimented quality assurance / quality control procedures.</p></li><li><p>Provide shop support during fabrication and testing.</p></li></ul><p>Required Experience</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited Program required.</p></li><li><p>Minimum twelve (12) years of design engineering experience required.</p></li><li><p>Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.</p></li><li><p>Must have the ability to acquire a security clearance.</p></li><li><p>Ability to work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated advanced design capability of custom equipment and/or containment systems, development and design verification of design documentation including fabrication drawings, engineering analyses, strength of materials calculations, fabrication and procurement specifications, data sheets and test plans.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated experience with leading mechanical design teams within a complex multi discipline team is essential.</p></li><li><p>Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments</p></li><li><p>Proficient with 3D design software Creo (former ProEngineer), SolidWorks, or Revit.</p></li><li><p>Proficient with Mathcad or equivalent calculation software.</p></li><li><p>Professional Engineering License required</p></li><li><p>Previous experience with NRC, DOE, or DoD projects desired.</p></li><li><p>Familiarity with NQA-1-2000 quality assurance programs desired.</p></li><li><p>Experience with supplier support, factory testing, and field startup required.</p></li><li><p>Local candidates preferred.</p></li></ul><p>Competencies</p><ul><li>Analytical</li></ul><ul><li>Synthesizes complex or diverse information;
