Essential Job Functions &

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analysis on incidents involving all types of vehicles and related mechanical equipment

  • Conduct vehicular accident reconstruction and mechanical failure analysis

  • Perform calculations, engineering analysis, computer analyses and simulations and technical reporting

  • Investigate design, safety and failure of machinery and mechanical systems

  • Provide technical findings and conclusions in laymen's terms, both verbally and in writing

  • Responsible for retention and development of client relationships

  • Deliver professional presentations, develop client relationships and promote self to client groups

  • Support conclusions by appropriate testimony in legal or other proceedings.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies

  • Regular and predictable physical presence in the office

Position Requirements:

  • B.S (Bachelor's of Science) in Mechanical Engineering required, M.S. (Master's of Science) preferred

  • P.E. or ability to obtain registration through testing within twelve (12) months

  • Five years of engineering experience preferably vehicle dynamics, testing, vehicle design, transportation, accident reconstruction and/or related disciplines

  • Computer aided drawing skills

  • Vehicular/mechanical systems knowledge and desire to learn Vehicular Accident Reconstruction and Failure Analysis is a must

  • Must be a self-starter

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Computer skills with spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software is a must

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

  • Public speaking and/or presentation experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel 40% of the time

  • Ability to maneuver in and around an accident site

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to drive to site locations

  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the work site
