TRS Consulting is supporting a St. Paul company with its search for a Mechanical Engineer.

Our client offers OEM and MRO support services for a wide range of clients within the aerospace and energy market spaces. Some of the products include turbofan engine test cells, aerodynamic wind tunnels and acoustic testing services. This is an extended contract opportunity in a team-focused environment. Pay is $40.00-$50.00 an hour.

The Mechanical Engineer will provide mechanical and/or structural design and analysis services to the mechanical engineering group.

Responsibilities:

Assist the team in conceptual development, design and analysis of structures, mechanisms, pressure components, process equipment and related hardware in accordance with job criteria, specifications, recognized codes and standards.
Prepare calculation packages, specifications, cost estimates, schedules and reports.
Provide information and support designers in the preparation of technical drawings and parts lists.
Confirm drawings conform to mechanical/ structural design and project requirements.
Support and coordinate with other technology groups, project management group, marketing and customers as required.
Complete assigned tasks within budget and schedule requirements.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% (domestic and international) for meetings with customers, vendors, and to participate in installation, start-up, acceptance and trouble-shooting activities.
Assist in the preparation of quotes.

Education and Experience

Bachelors of Science or Masters of Science in Mechanical or Structural Engineering
3 - 7 years relevant experience
ITAR Compliant
Familiarity with AutoCAD and 3D modeling, experience with Inventor strongly preferred.
Familiarity with finite element analysis, experience with ANSYS desirable.
Experience in the design of large weldments, piping, hydraulic systems, mechanisms, mechanical assemblies and machining methods will be considered a plus.
